The way the judge worded his lecture to the man when sentencing heavily implies it was not forced. When you say "You knew very well that having sex with such a young girl was wrong." it implies that it was something both agreed on but other people don't like. Yet what strikes me is if he had been 12 or 13 then many people wouldn't care or just be mad they had sex so young. This is why I can't stand this over reaching law. As a parent, if that was my daughter, I should be able to decided along with her if it is okay and if we should allow the relationship to continue, cut it off, or bring up charges.
Jamie Oliver is doing a great thing for this. I highly doubt the man he hired was an actual rapist, all he did was broke moral law, he did not create a victim or hurt anyone. It's just so frustrating to read cases where people are having their lives ruined because of other people's misguided morals, nothing to do with hurting anyone. Then those people making sure the person they deem the victim feels as damaged as possible. I will be contacting Jamie Oliver from his site and expressing my gratitude and happiness that he is going against the grain. |
