One of the problems with the iPhone is that the battery can't be removed and your GPS location is always on and your camera can be turned on/off remotely by third parties. Investigative journalist Amber Lyon has talked about how she had to get rid of her iPhone because sources wouldn't let her around them with it on her person and security experts she consulted with had a ton of concerns about it. She did an interview with Joe Rogan where she went into this. Fast forward to around 3:05 in the video below to hear about this:

Even in the article, it said that most of the data will be automatically uploaded to the iCloud for most users and that everything in the cloud is open to law enforcement and to hackers (who may or may not be working with the feds). Not to be a naysayer, but you've got to wonder how much of this is just window dressing. I'm certainly no security expert, but I like to keep my ear to the ground. |
