You say you are restricting yourself to "people who voice an opinion", but you are really restricting yourself to "people who voice an opinion on pedophile web sites". I know many co-workers who have voiced anti-contact opinions. One of them married his wife when she was 14, which was normal in his country of origin, and they remain happily married. I have still heard him muttering that all pedophiles should be killed. Another co-worker is clearly a hebephile at least - it is beyond doubt. He has voiced his opinion that men who touch young girls should be executed without trial. Including myself, that is at least two to one against in the real world. These men are willing to exalt violence against other men sharing their inclinations, which leaves me to wonder how much good self-interest did them.

But of course, self-interest also dictates that voicing this dogma is more useful to self-preservation that telling the truth - but it is also quite likely that they have come to internalize these beliefs. Lots of self-hating gays, self-hating blacks, and other self-hating minorities out there.

On the other hand, I have heard quite a bit of pro-contact statements from men who are clearly teleiophiles. Many would have loved to have had sex with a hot teacher when they were in high school, middle school, or even elementary school. They hope their sons are banging some little hottie in middle school - but they are often violently opposed to other men's sons banging their daughter - or at least they claim to be. That is expected of them. I've also heard some underage women, when they think no one is paying them attention, comment on their interest in older men. No one believes in the age of consent for themselves - they all believe in applying it to someone else.

But, of course, it is socially unacceptable to argue against age of consent laws, so few will take the risk of opposing it - especially when it could mean the loss of their children to a state agency ... but a few will start to laugh at the absurdity of it all, and spread that laughter further and further until, one day, a critical mass will be reached and everyone will wonder why the hell they didn't oppose it earlier, and then everyone will claim that they did oppose it and were heroes in the struggle for liberation.
