GirlChat #593445
Girllovepride just missed the semi-annual film thread.
So, I'm not going to haul out the entire list; but I'll discuss the highlights. Very few films actually portray some version of "Pedophilia" and even fewer portray GirlLove as we know it. But for "within the ballpark" we have; Dreamchild Lawn Dogs Pretty Baby Some films show a very special relationship between a man and a girl; The Magic Of Belle Isle Man On Fire Monsieur Lazhar A few show girls in a role as sexually expressive in "age-inappropriate" relationships; The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane The Man In The Moon Twelve And Holding There are your "coming of age" films about burgeoning sexuality and sexual identity; Corpo Celeste Thirteen Tomboy There are also all manner of body-swap fantasies, time-travel and vampire ( immortal ) stories that juxtapose "adult relationships" onto characters who are chronologically "too young;" The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Let The Right One In Les Revenants The Secret ( Vincent Perez's film ) The Time Travelers Wife There are the films I think of as "biographic Feminist" which simply remember the truth about the complexity of being a girl; Blame It On Fidel Goodbye First Love My Queen Karo Wadjda And finally there are a few films that are so completely idiosyncratic and surreal that they are a genre unto themself, but still of interest; The Annunciation Bugsy Malone Catherine Breillat's fairy tales: Bluebeard and The Sleeping Beauty City of Lost Children The Company of Wolves The Fall Innocence Jan Svankmajer's Alice Moonrise Kingdom The Spirit of the Beehive There are, of course, so many more. Have fun. Dante |
