GL video game recommendation

Hey, GLers! :)

Like most young guys, I enjoy the odd video game now and then. I recently stumbled across this gem called "The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series".

I'm sure everyone reading this has heard of The Walking Dead franchise. If not, the title of the franchise is self-explanatory. (Zombies.)

Telltale Games are unique in that they release their games serially; generally, each "season" of a game consists of five episodes, which are released a couple months apart. Currently, the entire first season of "The Walking Dead" has been made available, as well as the first two episodes of season two.

In the first season, you play as a man named Lee, who's a convicted murderer. Shortly after the zombie apocalypse occurs, you happen across this adorable eight-year-old girl, Clementine. Her parents are missing, so you take on the role of protector/guardian.

However, the real treat is presented in season two, wherein eleven-year-old Clementine becomes the protagonist, and you get to play as her.

The thematic focus of both seasons is survival in a post-apocalyptic scenario, with a strong dose of human drama and some light horror elements.

The game plays out more-or-less like an interactive movie. Quicktime event action sequences are scattered throughout. Sometimes you need to solve a puzzle or explore an area in order to progress the plot. You shape both the plot the playable character by choosing Lee/Clementine's dialogue and making morally stressful decisions on their behalf.

Playing the game doesn't require any skill, but is entertaining, and the story is magnificent.

Plus, if Clementine is in your AoA, then it's almost impossible not to become attached to her over the course of season one, which makes playing as her in season two an especially awesome experience.

So, as a consumer, as a casual gamer, but especially as a GLer: if you have the spare time and cash, do yourself a favour and download this game. Playing in a zombie apocalypse survival-horror/drama as a hot, badass eleven-year-old LG is completely worth the 50 dollars.
