No sooner a problem is defeated that another takes its place. No sooner do I see lights at the end of the tunnel than they turn out to be trains travelling in the opposite direction. I can't believe how alive I am and yet I am also dead in an equal amount. And yet dying. I'd like to be hit by lightning on the best day of my life and fall inert at the spot.

There is no light. There are just bats, used to the dark, who can travel in it, traverse it in all angles and every way and look like they see because they never go wrong. But even they are not seeing. It's an artifact of their ability to fly in the dark.
