Forget what they say. Look at what they do.

"It's legally very confusing."

True.

But it helps to forget what they claim they do and why they say they do it and to just look at what was done.

Very little of this comes out of the blue.

Whether it is clothed "salacious" posing or the more recent focus on simple nudity; all of these were mentioned decades ago as "indicative."

The main move has been to transform the "indicative but not illegal" into the illegal.

But read Lanning, and years later see what he discussed in the above terms as criminal. Read COPINE and years later see the legal portions criminalized.

They aren't striking out at random. They are claiming territory conceptually, and then seizing it legally.

On the plus side.

If CP currently was still what it was in the 80s, then the criminalization of civilian oversight would mean that you could age-out anyone who had been an eyewitness to legal '70s CP so that nobody could see the lie for what it was.

But as they push the boundary of these "brutal images of child-rape" into clothed child-modeling and innocent nudist frolicking, they continue to refresh the class who've seen the "rape imagery" back when it was legal.

And, of course, they flag their true motive.

You don't hamper an overworked homicide division with several million unpaid parking tickets. If you do, then it says that you're no longer concerned with homicide, if you ever were to begin with. And if you blur the numbers entirely to conceal which are homicide cases while doing all your public pushing on the "parking ticket" front; we could reasonably conclude that you conceal the homicides you cannot prove because, maybe, you are no longer working on ANY.

They claim that the Internet has made it easier to create and distribute the worst sort of CP. And the "desensitization wing" argues that all of this is leading towards the horrorshow pushing anything innocuous out of the way and into the margins.

But they expand to simple nudity, and then claim that the subsequent increase in arrests represents the "worst of the worst;" as if they magically found a cache of child-rape pics at they very same time all their new legal ground was on criminalizing frolicking. ( True correlation does not imply causation. But they chose to conceal the causation here when they could have made it transparent. )

Anywho, we haven't seen the last of this.

And everytime they seize another piece of innocuous territory, they create a new body of eyewitnesses to the lie.
