UK readers: new legislation a danger to us all

Posted by blocblocbloc on Sunday, April 20 2014 at 7:10:06PM

I'm not sure if this topic has been raised before, but UK readers should be aware of changes to legislation which could affect all of us who live here. In 2014, Parliament will debate (and almost certainly pass) a bill introducing the Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This will apply not just to people convicted of a sexual offence, but to anyone even accused of vaguely sexual behaviour with a child, such as:

"(c) giving a child anything that relates to sexual activity or contains a reference to such activity;

(d) communicating with a child, where any part of the communication is sexual.

This does not require a conviction."

An Order can be lifelong and can consist of anything at all that the police consider necessary. Anything at all. For life. And the court has very little say in it, so we have little opportunity to defend ourselves or involve a lawyer. The amount of space this gives for false or malicious accusations is enormous.

This is a significant step towards establishing a police state for minor attracted people. I suspect there is not a thing we can do to stop it. Who would support our cause?

I think we Brits need to consider forming an action group to fight our corner. No-one else will.
