.. it propagated the typical "males take sex through persistence, deception, and force... females give it up reluctantly, and need to never give it up." I do understand that that is actually how it plays out generally, but I don't like how I felt the movie pushed the "sex is bad" in general moral rather than "respectful sex is what should be sought out". Also, that shit did not promote pedophilia, it promoted... rape culture (as much as I hate that term).
I just found it sexist (against both males and females), ageist, anti-sex, etc. With all that said. I have cousins who must be around your age. They loved that movie and said it was realistic, however they loved the lead male. Honestly I think their attitudes on sex were heavily influenced by that movie (that is NOT the movie's fault but the fault of parents taking a no talking about sex approach) |
