The previous discovery was roughly 2.4 times the radius of earth, the new discovery only 1.1 times the radius of earth. That's a huge difference, especially considering recent discoveries that somewhere between 1.5 and 2.0 times the radius of earth planets gain a heavy atmosphere that might not be conducive to life as we know it.
