Trying to make sense out of your position here...

You started out by saying

I then explain what I intended in contrast to your characterization of it. I'm telling you my position, with some annoyance because I feel you've made a wild leap about my beliefs that a person who was actually trying to seek understanding would not make. The point we started with here was with what I believe and why I believe it. You change the subject by telling me that I'm wrong. Where are the goalposts? If you now talk about whether I'm right or wrong, I'd say you moved the goalposts, if we're using that metaphor.

If you want to say, "Sorry, I misunderstood what you believed" and then lambast me about how wrong my beliefs are, that's OK. Then we've finished one conversation and gone on to the next. Then we're in the same conversation.

Then when you talk about my being wrong, you nitpick about evidence for my assertions, the great weighty issue of using "most" versus "some". You can say you disagree with my assumptions in a simpler and more neutral way. Then you get hung up on "lots of sex with kids". I'm not replying specifically to the views of you or Dissident, and if you take it as impugning you I'd say you're being awfully touchy. There are other people on this board expressing opinions too. I was in that case trying to talk about there being enough girls with these desires to make a difference in the lives of pedophiles -- not finding ten in the whole USA, for instance.

When you bring up impugning Dissident, you're talking about some other thread and I'd need to get a link to just what part of it to know what you're saying there.

I'd be delighted NOT to discuss issues with you -- Dissident and I seem to get on much better at that, following the same ground rules for conversation. But if you tell people what I believe and you're wrong about it, I feel a need to set the record straight. As a generalization, I would say you don't understand what I believe and I'd rather you not write as if you do.
