The reasons I don't consider number 1 a valid argument are:

* Every child has different interests and things they are more passionate about learning and mastering. Making an argument that learning about sex is absolutely necessary seems to me to infringe on the children's freedom of thought. Same as does forcing the learning of nearly every other subject. I am already opposed to the school system because of this homogenization of what children "must" learn and what doesn't matter if they don't. I don't want to add anything to it and I wouldn't add sex to it.

* If you argue that "it is necessary" for children to learn something, you can justify anything in pursue of that. We force children to learn many things already because "it is necessary" and we justify many violations of their rights, along with practices that amount to incarceration and torture. I sure don't want to add sex to it. We would start justifying forcing sex on them because of their education. We would be facing a society where we end up raping children because "it is necessary" for them to learn about sex. I don't want that.

Number 3 matters because it means you are violating their rights to their own body autonomy and ownership. Simple as that.

How do the children benefit from this? What good does it do? What difference does it really make?

It ends the state of apartheid they live under. It allows all adults to freely interact with children.

As things are now, an adult does not need to have sex with children to be accused of it and suffer the consequences from it. An adult does not need to be a pedophile to be suspected of ill intent just because of free interactions with children. And as a consequence, children are affected in all spheres of life and learning. Ever seen or read anyone complain that children or teens these days are wild, disrespectful, misbehaved, socially inept, and other similar stuff? Well, this is because they never had the neutral, extrafamilial adult interaction that would have taught them how to behave. But how would they, if any adult trying on that role is accused of ill intent or of actual contact? (and treated as guilty without proof) This is how children will benefit.

I understand you need better treatment but do we need a lower AOC for that?

Yes.

We are treated badly because child sex is illegal. As long as child sex remains illegal, we will always be ticking time bombs.

There is no part of our oppression that is not because child sex is illegal.

It is naïve to the point of being sweet those who think we can find acceptance without legalization. It's due to our desires involving things which are illegal that we are not accepted, not because of any other reason.
