Its a 1902 version of the "Law of Attraction," which claims that everything which happens to you stems from how you think.

This all sounds great when folks are talking about success. But it has nasty moral implications when it comes to external immorality; for it forbids thinking of external agents. A recent proponent of this principle was forced to admit that complete personal responsibility for creating our environment means that the Jews chose the Holocaust.

Since this was written in 1902, it is highly unlikely that it was intended to apply to desensitization theory or orientational models of sexuality which hadn't been invented yet.

Further, it would fly AGAINST the notion that porn turns people into anything at all. If I wish to create the reality in which porn has no ill effect, then my thinking it so makes it so, right?

Clearly the person citing the quote THAT way has chosen to live in a world where sexual orientations are subject to revision by pornography. If they can root this wicked thought from their head, then they can make it otherwise. :)
