She's in elementary school, that is as specific as I will get on her age.

I will always give her love and respect, no matter how she acts towards me. She will never be judged harshly by me, and I will listen to everything. The more I think about it, the more I think it's possible someone teased her(likely an adult relative who was just trying to be playfully mean to her, but I think she took it to heart if this theory is right). When we're alone, she'll sometimes put on the pretend show at first, then quickly take it back and start being sweet again. Little girls, and honestly most people, usually feel very comfortable around me. A positive trait I picked up from my mother. My little girl just needs time to understand that she doesn't need to put up those defenses around me. It will happen, I'm sure. I'll love her no matter what, though.
