I do not think law enforcement wise it is very risky posting here because GC content appears to be legal according to common sense.

Privacy wise, like for example GC server being compromised (yes dear friends GL/BL sites have been hacked in the past) or your ISP spying on you, a VPN will protect your computer IP just fine.

Privacy wise there is no way for someone to issue a subpoena unless you break the law first but for extra security I would make sure to use a reputable VPN company that keeps no logs.

What is reputable VPN company you might wonder...

A company that has been around long enough for evaluation to have taken place, for example one company you should stay away from is HideMyAss, they have turned over VPN logs to the FBI in the past.
