This suit has no legal grounds whatsoever. If she was 18 and had consensual sex, the parents can't do anything. And depending on the location, say the age of consent were younger like 16, then they still might not be able to do anything.

Maybe there is some law against under 18 and in a position of power, but above age of consent. I don't know. Regardless, that isn't the case here. Just about the only thing that could happen, assuming the article has presented accurate info of the situation, is that this guys job and reputation maybe a bit tarnished due to the attention of this, and the already bad vision in the public's eye of the Catholic church at this time.

The parent's legal OWNERSHIP ends at 18, sorry!
They probably just want to try to get some money out of this. Haha, sucks to be Catholic.

I think the fact they are living together now says something of this girl's will, or else she is really a pushover. ;)

And LOL at this:

Bonilla "began to groom (the teen) for a sexual relationship," the suit said, knowing that she suffered from mental health issues, was previously sexually abused by an adult man, and was "susceptible to being manipulated."

Right... Good thinking! Anyone who is nice to your daughter is automatically grooming them. I bet they would love a 21yo age of consent right now!
