Obviously gloves don't count against use of hands. But if bats count as hands, then you could as well say that rifle shooters put bullets in the target with their hands. There is a reason why bats are not optional and why they are regulated for a lot of their features - and that is precisely because they are not hands. Same as bats for other related sports, the sticks for hockey and its family, the rackets for tennis and its family and so on…

Of course, the best part of the sport are the little league cheerleaders…
