If you histogram the figures, you get a peak around ages 12-14
Actually you don't; neither the post at GNXP ⚠️ ↗ (which is not authored by Razib), nor the Rape in America report from 1992 ⚠️ ↗ have numbers for this age range. These are the numbers from the Rape in America report (714 cases of forcible rape with 507 distinct victims):
29.3% less than 11 years
32.3% 11-17 years
22.2% 18-24 years
7.1% 25-29 years
6.1% more than 29 years
3.0% were unsure or refused to answer
The sample consisted of 4008 women (18 and older), 2008 of which represent a cross sample of all American women, whereas another 2000 constituted a sample of younger women between 18 and 34; 85% agreed to participate in this study. In other words, victims of rape who were older than 34 are already underrepresented in the original sample. It is not clear if the percentages quoted above were corrected for this bias or are "raw" numbers (I fear the latter).
At least their conservative definition of "forcible rape" excludes linguistically dubious legal constructions like "statutory rape".
Surf safe;)
