With the monopoly power of the State in place silly laws are a matter of course. It's the observable nature of the State to expand in all directions - like the iron cross of the Hungarian fascists. What practical incentives have busybodies NOT to continually expand their purview and power over our lives? None... unless we apply such incentives. Else they have every incentive toward perpetual expansion of their racket. Tis the nature of any and all government approved Big Business.

The last part of this is could be disturbing if a case like this was brought to court. It could be very problematic when a jury determines whats grossly offensive. There are some people who would think the most mild form of porn is grossly offensive.

This all reflects why the god of democracy is no more worthy of worship than the god of the bible. The "average person" is a bigoted idiot blinkered by taboos so why should we give a fuck what he think is offensive? Why should we care how he votes in elections even if they weren't shams along with the rotten system to which they impart a quasi-religious air of legitimacy?

When people lack self-reliance on a material level it is no surprise that they will rely upon others to determine their moral life as well. The so-called "left" and "right" forms of government tyranny over our lives are not opposites, but rather complementary wings of the same beast.
