Keeping little girls fresh

I just had to share this. It is just so bizarre. I was at the mall a few days ago with my brother and his wife shopping for my nephew who is only a year old. We were in the clothes section for babies and toddlers when I came upon the swimsuit section and something caught my eye. I noticed that in the crotch of each of the girls swimsuits there was a piece of plastic coating at the bottom sticking to the swimsuit, in the shape of a a girls vulva. It appears it was placed there by design. It would seem that all of the children's swimsuits for girls had them, though none of the boys' swimsuits. It was even labeled with something to the effect of 'For hygenic puruposes'.

I showed this to my brother and his wife and was immediately labeled a 'pervert'. But then again that tends to happen alot so I was not too put out.

It just seemed really odd to me. Especially since I don't think it would help at all with hygiene. The plastic coating leaves a sticky substance underneath which would seem to me to be more unsanitary then the cloth it is supposed to protect.

Weird.
