He's Pro-Capitalist, but anti-Free Market

There's a big difference between 1) the capitalist system, which requires and has always been in bed with the State and 2) free markets, which develop spontaneously without need for the State. And yes, capitalism in this sense is a system much as feudalism was a system before it. E.g., Corporations do not incorporate themselves - they are legal creations of the State and require regulatory cartelization to keep competition down. Even in the days of supposedly laissez-faire "robber baron" capitalism there was massive interference by the State on behalf of capitalists.

The insistence that profit maximization is the sole end of a free market, just doesn't get why the confluence of a variety of voluntary actions with different motives tend to benefit all more than any planned or managed economy ever has.

I agree, but if capitalists tended to agree, the Libertarian Party would be the party of billionaires, rather than hanging on by a thread and struggling even to elect dog catchers.
