The statement "It's illegal just to have the attraction" leaves little room for a fruitful discussion I'm afraid.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was just saying that cause he felt angry. He is smart enough to know that the attraction alone isn't illegal, but he still thinks "it's wrong"
