A leap of faithlessness!

The God-idol is indeed the work of human beings, and what people have created people can destroy.
Yet we must take care not to forsake the God-idol only to embrace another idol, such as that of the State. This is the error of all too many atheists.
To be deeply faithless is to live dangerously; it involves a wild leap, not stutter step.
We of great faithlessness are the little girl who has lost faith in her âvirtue,â and so sees no compelling reason not to share or sell her body. Even if she wanted to again believe in chastity, no longer can she bring herself to live a lie. For God the Father may not be real, but the same cannot be said of the joys and thrills she experiences during sex. She does not know her ârealâ Father, as paternity tests can lie, but she does know that she enjoys sex and loves to be sexy.
Yet the fully faithless lack even faith in hedonism â the belief that pleasure is the only important value. Would pleasure even be possible in a world without pain? O folk of no faith, do share in all the finest pleasures, but keep your whips and don't give up your guns!
We Faithless scoff at the deferred hedonism of religious people who, although hostile to pleasures in this life, are motivated by the hope of infinite pleasure and eternal happiness in the next. Why not each have our 72 maidens in this life rather than in the next life that might well never be?
