They might not be ultimately guilty for every abuse performed by the state. But starving them of their salary will mean that less people will take government jobs, which in turn will mean that the state will be out of people it can control (as their employer) and use to control others.

I think you're falling into a way of thinking that many conservative/libertarian types seem to fall into by regarding the government or the state as a completely separate entity from society and then demonizing it. Government is simply a reflection of society; it is "we the people."

As a pedo, I don't appreciate many of the abuses of government any more than you do, but just attacking the institution of government isn't the answer. You've got to change society. Once you start changing society, government can actually be used to your advantage, as it has for other minorities in this country.
