Actually I think its quite the other way around.
As a kid I was tired of all the characters being cliches who were played by adults. As a stepparent, I saw my daughters grow weary of being dismissed by society and the media.
And given just how many Peds come here assuming that they're the sole exception to the stereotypal behaviour reported in the press; I assume that they are indicative of many more.
Kids can openly compare notes. "So you noticed that everyone assumes that a Goth in a duster is a school shooter too?"
Peds can't exactly walk up to another guy and strike up a convo.
But hey, the media tends to stereotype everyone. Both dramatists and journalists tend to be lazy and play it safe by pandering to perceived expectations.
