You're making a mountain of a molehill, Trillion. I've embarrassed myself plenty of times here, but in my experience most people didn't even notice it, or if they did they just didn't care. ;-)

I asked those questions not because I was trying to catch you up in something but because I was genuinely curious about how you reconciled those things in your mind. You see, I am constantly intrigued by how many people can say one thing and then contradict themselves the next without really giving it much thought. While it's true that few people ever achieve the self-actualization level on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs ⚠️ ↗ (one of the criteria of which is a well-defined and internally consistent morality), it seems like some rather glaring contradictions sometimes do not trouble otherwise intelligent and decent people much at all. This happens often with religious people because they have to reconcile some huge moral quandaries and contradictions laid out by a consistent view of their faith, but they simply aren't able to do it. Rather than struggle with the cognitive dissonance this presents, they come up with some really convoluted justification for their belief. But you didn't do that; you recognized the contradiction and adjusted for it. That's the right step in achieving self-actualization. ;-)
