Yes, something about those voices - and, of course, girl pheromones - that certainly gets my attention.

The only downside is that sometimes I have trouble telling very little boy voices from girl voices (generally age 6 or less), so sometimes I am quite disappointed to turn around and see a boy. Ugh. ;-)

But I think you are right that we may be more attuned to the world than adult lovers - but perhaps we are simply more attuned to girls.
