The girl is a mysterious character modeled on Carol Hersee ⚠️ ↗, a famous part of an image from BBC, Test Card F ⚠️ ↗. She was played by two different girls during the series' run, Rafaella Hutchinson and Harriet Rodgers. Test Card Girl was a kind of spirit guide to the show's central character, a police officer who may or may not be dead, or may or may not be in a coma, or may or may not have traveled back in time.
