... and I don't mean just 'statutory rape'... it's very easy to believe that thousands of people would talk about rape online and not necessarily be just trolling.

Human sexuality does have a dark side. It's true that 'negatives' can be magnified but so can 'positives.' Happens all the time; it's called looking at the world through 'rose-colored glasses'. The error is not so much in exaggerating the dark side as falsely scapegoating certain groups (like those who admit that children/teens are sexy) as uniquely evil.

Right here on GC we have some people who admire forced child marriages as a way to have child sex slaves. Let's say it's really true that, as the neocons allege, there are many Muslim pedophiles who marry nonconsenting young girls for sexual purposes. Then that's child rape being practiced on a large scale, albeit wrapped up in sanctimonious religious bullshit. At least those who honestly admit a desire to rape have the guts to admit it and don't need a bullshit religious justification.
