My word!

As an ex-teacher (And no, it has nothing to do with my pedness, lol), I find this both surprising, and at the same time, predictable.

When I was teaching girls in the late 80s, the fashion was to have school skirts long, very long indeed, almost down to the ankles.

Later on, (much to my delight), that changed, to the shorter, the better. I used to see 9 or 10 yo girls in skirts that barely covered their ass, yet back then it was ok.

Look, this has nothing to do with sex, or desirability. This is just a fashion thing, and for a school to impose their views on this is kinda facist, imo.

Girls will be girls, so why not let them be? Fashions come and fashions go - you have to be some kind of dinosaur if you think different!

I don't see a problem, whether skirts be short or long. As a Principal I once worked under once said: "Let them be free when it comes to their fashion sense. Just so long as they are good pupils, and do what they're told - who cares?"

This is the Christian right moving in, with their Nazi ideas - make no mistake.

If my girl wants to wear a short skirt, she will. If she wants to wear pants, she will.

That's her choice, and dudes - we should accept that.

I know some of you might disagree, but hell, it makes good conversation...!
