If I had a girl in my life that I loved and got outed, I would definitely want to stay with her and would be willing to make some sacrifices for that to happen.

I wouldn't lie at all: there is nothing that needs to be "cured" and my opinions wouldn't have changed. But I would be willing to tone down or refocus any activism on my part towards other issues I feel are important if her parents are adamant about that. I would presume that they wouldn't take issue with my being outspoken against the (separate but equal) juvenile "justice" system, for example.

On the other hand if I didn't have a girl in my life at the time I was outed, I wouldn't be sacrificing anything.
