But I have had some people react very negatively when I told them that I date girls in the age range of 18-21, because they insist that young women of that age are still essentially children. Strange as it may seem to us, not everyone in our society makes a strict demarcation between children and teens, and not everyone even views younger women of legal age as being adults rather than children. I have even been called a "pedafile" for being admitting an attraction to a 21 year old woman. Not everyone uses common sense as readily as we might think, and the fact that childhood has been artificially extended by our society to the degree that it has does have practical consequences for hebephiles.

In fact, my girlfriend recently asked me how young she could be before I would have been willing to get involved with her if no AoC laws existed. Clearly, she was hoping that I would have been willing to get involved with her when she was as young as ten years old.
