There comes a point in time when you say: "To hell with this place; this country is too far gone for me to waste the rest of my life hoping for a change."
To the very young among you, stay and fight the good fight.

However, those who hear "Time's winged chariot hurrying near"
can appreciate my position: Take what the gods give you, which isn't much: they are a stingy lot.

Many have said that things will get worse before they get better.
If there is truth in that, then to those of you for whom the bloom has left the rose I say: do it while you still can.

I wrote a post which may be helpful to some of you, called "Notes in a Passport"; if you can access Girl Chat Search it gives you my impression of which countries are more accepting of us than others. I will update it when I finish traveling this time.

Anyway, the question is obvious: do you have the years to invest in this cause, or are you old enough so that wanting some joy in the time remaining to you is of paramount importance?

There are places where you can live the dream; the Western culture is not one of them.

Nor is it likely to be as long as politicians can scare up votes by pandering to people's concern for their offspring and couple that with the fundamental mistrust of sex that has been instilled at the lower levels of our society by the churches in their grab for power (yes, I put the blame squarely on the western Christian churches derived or descended from the Roman Catholic church- not the eastern church, which is the subject for another post). I've covered these points in depth in a post entitled "The Church, the Mafia, and You" so I will not cover that ground again.

Anyway, I'll be back in touch when I finally settle down.

Girl Bless You.

Yer ole buddy,
Seamus
