I take your point. I have known examples of this kind of sadistic personality.

However, I would also point out that in some cases, such as with a Bible-believing sister who has been told by others what the "facts" are . . . that sadistic personality is one or more steps removed.

In such a case, attacking the deluded middlemen is not necessarily the way to go. It is, at least, a grayer area than attacking the sadist that is directing the attack, who may be many steps away from the pawn that is used. A direct attack on a pawn is just likely to confirm the biases they already have.
