The recent oil spill demonstrates nothing if not that corporations are incapable of self-regulating.

Why would anyone self-regulate who is not 100% liable?



You did know Big Oil has limited liability, right?

That is so that Greens don't complain that we're using too much nuclear (which is far safer, but more expensive to start up), and the rest who are not Greens don't complain that gas is too expensive (it would be much cheaper if nobody cared about oil spills).
