Maybe if you mean "corporate socialism" to protect big business and suppress competition plus a safety net to keep workers in line and suppress radical movements. Then again, the Axis powers of Europe had that "socialism."

And firearms ownership isn't a particularly meaningful statistic without taking rural vs. urban population distribution into account. Owning a firearm has different permutations if you live in inner-city Chicago than it does if you live in rural Finland.

Don't let facts get in the way of your desire to disarm urban minorities while keeping a much more powerful arsenal in the hands of the primarily white, and demonstrably brutal, police state forces, though.
