But here goes: No one said that self-reliance has to be absolute in order to be significant. So your objection here is without basis.

Now perhaps you can explain why, as a statist, you should not support discriminating against women and gays in the military, especially combat arms. If gays (and women) make laughable militiamen or mafia enforcers in your eyes, then how could they possibly be be useful as soldiers?
