I would have no problem with any youths choosing to accede to parental authority. I simply have problems with the state--or anyone else--forcing youths to do this via threat of force. If kids choose to submit for reasons of their own, then that is on them. As long as they knew they had the option to do otherwise, I wouldn't purport to interfere with their freedom of choice. However, I do not believe that huge amounts of young people would acquiesce to parental authority without force; I think the good parents would naturally respect their kids to a great degree, and such households wouldn't have too many conflicts most of the time.
