The great majority of people do not resist state power, and the majority of kids do not directly resist most forms of parental power--both because of the possible consequences. That is what I meant about enforcing authority. Also, when kids run away from home, they are often taken back to their parents' home by force, courtesy of the police. I have as many problems with the state abusing authority as you do, which is why I do not support the state intervening in human behavior save when the infliction of non-consensual and demonstrable harm is being inflicted or when civil rights are being infringed upon. That being said, I do support and advocate for the eventual establishment of a classless society that would have no conception of the state.

Nevertheless, I understand that in a class-divided society like capitalism, which breeds poverty, crime, material deprivation, and war, order will have to be imposed by force, and currently we must rely on the capitalist class and its various institutions to preserve order for as long as capitalism continues to last.
