(OT) - We are part Neanderthal after all

I kind of suspected it anyway, but it's nice to see that we now have DNA evidence to support that hypothesis. All non-Africans appear to have between 1 and 4 percent Neanderthal DNA.

Not mentioned here, but seen elsewhere, is the fact that all this DNA came from male neanderthals, not females. No one seems to know why, but I wonder if it may be something like the sterility of most (but not all) mules and hinnies, and the differences between them. Just a few exceptions, or even just one, would allow for gene transfer and a worldwide heritage.

This would explain, anyway, why this research ⚠️ ↗ found no trace of Neanderthal mitochondrial DNA, which is passed down only by mothers.
