The Chronicles of Prydain are a series of five books in the fantasy genre, written by Lloyd Alexander in the 1960s.

They're not Lord of the Rings caliber, but they're pretty good.

Characters included Taran, Princess Eilonwy, and an oracular pig named Hen Wen.

The 1985 Disney version was really bad.

It's been a long time since I read this series, and I've forgotten about 98% of it - but it was good.
