Calling us cultish and telling us (during some of your periodic breakdowns) that we should "cure" ourselves for the safety of kids is insulting, plain and simple. Those types of comments aren't constructive but belittling to our character. Also, saying that a large percentage of pro-contact people only support youth liberation so that they can have sexual access to youths in their AoA is an insult of the highest level, and is a huge attack on the character of many people here. It clearly shows that you do not like the character of many people on these boards. I wasn't suggesting that you "run." I was instead asking why you stick around sometimes if this place irritates you as much as it does, and if so few people in this community are the same page with you ideologically. I know there are several flaws in this community (ask me what I think they are in the future, and I will tell you), but I am not constantly irritated and angered by people here, I certainly do not think we are becoming "cultish," I don't think anyone here needs to be "cured" on my bad days, and I believe the vast majority of people in this community are not ruled by their loins but have the entire fulcrum of concerns in regards to young people. The majority of people here do not agree with me on many issues (and you know this), but the majority does agree with me on the most fundamental issues that are relevant to us, and if that wasn't the case, I wouldn't hang around this community, but rather I would attempt to start one of my own that was more in harmony with my goals and feelings. I understand that most people here will not agree with all of my beliefs on everything (including politically), but I wouldn't hang around with large numbers of MAPs who were against the most important issue of relevance to us, or who were hostile to civil rights. I am a Marxist, but I find agreement with many pro-capitalists here on important issues of relevance to this specific community, and a firm support for civil rights and freedom over perceived security is foremost among them and totally non-negotiable to me. The mere fact that I share an attraction base with the people in this community would not, in and of itself, make me stay or feel closeness to the people here.

That being said, I do agree that support for all GLers, regardless of their ideology, is of great importance on this board, and I will always offer you--or anyone else--support if you ask for it. For instance, if you were to ever again lose a job unjustly, or have trouble with an ignorant relative who refused to let you around their children, I would be there for you.
