Justice in America? Incarceration rates have increased almost 1000% since 1970, and yet violent and property crimes (real crimes) have dropped significantly in that time. In other words, at least 90% of people imprisoned in America are there for victimless "crimes" invented within the last 40 years, and it is even higher when the victimless "crimes" still on the books from before 1970 are added in. The result is that America has 25% of the world's prison population and the highest number of people incarcerated as a percentage of its population with annual spending in the prison-industrial complex in excess of $100 billion... How can anyone believe that the American system works?
