Re: The Body Language

Yumm.

I was just thinking of body language not one hour before I read this post.

I was out to dinner with a friend, and we were leaving as a hispanic family was getting out of their vehicle.

The tween daughter was the first out in a cute striped hoodie whose sleeves she had pulled past her hands although it wasn't chilly at all. A parental asked why she'd slammed the door and she gave a nervous shrug as she shifted her balance from leg to leg so as to be always slightly off-center.

Now, I have no meta-analysis of what was going on here. But I did have a flash; that all of this was exactly like my Ellen at that age. It was like hearing someone else speak in your beloved's voice, only the "sound" was how she inhabited her space and held herself.

Anyhow for a while there I was looking at a cute stranger and I was also over a decade in the past watching Ellen when she was 12.
