You are apologizing for having posted harsh-worded posts "in the heat of the moment", given your recent experience with violence
in a thread that deals with an action committed "in the heat of the moment" and its being right or wrong (or understood but not justified).
Of course I am not comparing some words in an online forum to assault. But it is a little ironic that you criticized an impulsive action by committing yourself another impulsive action.
In any case, I accept your apology. And, to tell the truth, you are quite an emphatic poster. I usually (though not always) agree with your positions, and I know that you keep it civil even when harsh, so I don't really have a problem. I didn't feel you "out of character", really. But it is always good to spot and admit your own mistakes, so I guess I am glad you did, now you had time to reflect on your external motivations for this specific thread.
