I care about though, and that's *why* I know I couldn't be trusted to make a sound judgment if something ever happened to them.

It seems to me you fear the same scenario I described, getting out of control due to the situation.

Irl I'm a phlegmatic over 50yo man, getting out of control happened only a very few times in my life and the last time was more than 25 years ago.

But I know myself well enough to know if I caught someone red handed molesting my A. all mental brakes would release.

Not proud of it or anything, but it saved my life in the past on at least one occasion.
