What you say is very accurate, but not everyone kissed Puzzled's ass like Kero did (and I told him that he shouldn't). Puzzled did a lot for the community, but then he suddenly left it, and he only rarely came back, and those times only to bitch and behave in ways that didn't seem to be the Puzz that everyone remembered. Also, Puzz had a very prominent mean streak that prevented many people from being overly polite to him when they had major disagreements; I wanted to respect him, but because he disliked me and treated everyone he disliked as if they were lower than pond slime, I never forgot his attitude towards me during disagreements. I find it much, much harder to be impolite to Mesmerised during disagreements than either Puzzled or Lindsay, because Mes knows how to talk to people when he has disagreements with them.

Otherwise, I basically agree with Dante. There are too many diverse ways of thinking despite our majority agreement that GL is not inherently wrong and should not be illegal as long as consent is present with both partcipants for GC to devolve into a cult. It's not a coincidence that the one major proponent of the "cult" theory is someone who does not have the majority viewpoint and greatly dislikes the fact that this board isn't too kind to the anti-contact view. It's easy for such an individual to perceive the majority viewpoint as an example of groupthink rather than simple confidence in their sexuality and strident in their belief that their love would never be toxic to any girl who received it.
