Switzerland doesn't have an army; Switzerland IS an army.

Everyone gets six weeks basic military training in the summer following their 18th birthday. Then they are each issued a rifle and a case of ammunition.

They are expected to maintain those rifles in acceptable working condition, and there are surprise inspections to verify the condition.
