She would definitely not have the innocence which we associate with childhood; she would in fact be considerably more sophisticated than any of us.

Innocence as a spiritual concept is a myth, often a self-contradictory one. The argument seems to be that innocence equates to both a vulnerability to corruption and a simultaneous incorruptibility (e.g. the argument that all children will go to Heaven by virtue of being children, regardless of their thoughts, feelings and actions.) This argument also presupposes that sexuality or certain other adult influences are inherently evil or negative.

In reality society uses 'innocence' as a euphemism for 'ignorance'--the idea is that innocence is somehow a special kind of ignorance that should be preserved in children, as opposed to the other type of ignorance, which everyone agrees should be remedied with education. This argument relies on a mystical interpretation of children, adults and sexuality that, when examined from a scientific/logical perspective, falls apart.

Bottom line: there's no such thing as innocence, only ignorance, and all ignorance can and should be remedied with education. We may disagree about how much and what types of sexual education are appropriate for children, but I doubt many here would argue that a child's sex education should be neglected.
