Do I have a source for these contentions? Yes; human history

Didn't your school teach history? Apprentices were learning a trade so that they could support themselves as early as possible.

"Children do not learn in school; they are babysat. It takes maybe 50 hours to teach reading, writing, and arithmetic. After that, students can teach themselves. Mainly what school does is to keep the children off the streets and out of the job market."
John Taylor Gatto,
New York State Teacher of the Year (twice)
New York City Teacher of the Year (3 times)

I apologize if I sounded a bit harsh or abrupt; I don't know how young you are, and to be sure, I never learned that kind of history in high school or even college; much of it you must study on your own if you have the desire.

However, it is easy to search on the internet and verify certain things:
compulsory schooling began in the 19th century, the industrial revolution is fairly recent in history, and intergenerational marriages were the norm, not the exception, in almost all human cultures for most of human history.
To verify schooling, you can do no better than the link I provided below.
Information on the industrial revolution is ubiquitous.
Even a peremptory perusal of anthropology will reveal the truth of the last assertion.

Please understand: I have no interest in "winning" debates; I come here to share knowledge, thoughts, and yes dreams, with my brothers and sisters
who are paddling the same leaky boat.

I would not intentionally mislead you; I have been a girl-lover for many years and have devoted much study to anything that impacts upon our existence. There are people on this forum (Dissident comes immediately to mind) whose dedication to our cause can, and should, serve as a model to us all, and whose research in our behalf is to be implicitly trusted. NFiH is another one.
I don't claim to be on their level, but I try.

The link here takes you to a page that is extremely informative and is filled with other links; click away and enjoy!
